I really enjoyed reading your post about Valerie Adams. She is pretty amazing, isn't she? I really hope that she is able to continue to participate in shot put for years to come. She's such a great ambassador for our country.
Great work on this DLO, Memory. You've taught us a lot about Valerie. Did you know what she was recently knighted and made a 'Dame?' In fact, when she is introduced she is called 'Dame Valerie Adams.' It is one of the highest honours that one can receive from the New Zealand government.
If you'd like to read more about the day that she was knighted, please follow this link to an article from the New Zealand Herald:http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11845315
